Meet Mrs. Pockets and all her friends with "Smiley the Clown and Friends" at the Utica Zoo. Smiley the Clown and Friends will be on The CW (Ch. 11) on Sunday, April 6th at 7:30AM. Get up early and have a ball with Smiley the Clown, Mrs. Pockets and all the other characters as they visit area businesses and attractions. But home base is the Utica Zoo! Join Smiley's Birthday Club and get a FREE birthday cake from the Florentine Pastry Shop (parents, send an email to info@uticazoo.org to sign your child up for a monthly drawing.) Want to tell everyone why your mom is the bestest mom ever? Write down why your mom is sooooooo special and drop it off at the Candy Corner in New Hartford Shopping Center (Dick, the Candyman has a really cool Smiley the Clown and Friends box for you to put it in.) We empty the box every week. On the May 4th show, we may pick you name as a winner for a great prize!

Come to the zoo all summer long and see Smiley, the Clown, and her friends Coco, the Clown, Funny Bunny, Hula Gorilla and Mrs. Pockets. Its all happening at the Utica Zoo!

The Utica Zoo's premiere wine tasting event, the "Wine in the Wilderness" is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2008 from 6:00 - 9:00PM. This annual event is in its 9th year and promises to be better than ever. "Simple Props" is back to entertain all evening and Hannaford's will present a spread to feed you like a king. Watch for details on ticket sale locations and hurry, they'll go fast! Enjoy an evening with the animals at your Utica Zoo.

Join us Sunday, June 1 for Military Appreciation Day. All armed forces personnel admitted free with a military ID. We goin gto have and essay contest. Write an essay telling us how life is with a serving military family member. Entries will be chosen for special prizes throughout the day. There will be free giveaways before the show from Smiley, the Clown & Friends. And there will be a special "Military Appreciation" filming of the "Smiley, the Clown & Friends" show to be aired on The CW (Ch. 11) television network. Filming will be from 1:00 - 3:00PM. Mayor David Roefaro is our guest Master of Ceremonies. He will preside over a special salute to all our military personnel in song, mixing military facts and music in concert.
