Directions to the Utica Zoo

Note: When using GPS, some systems will direct visitors to enter our property through our service entrance. If you find yourself driving through a golf course or cemetery, re-navigate to 220 MEMORIAL PARKWAY UTICA, NY 13501 and follow signs to the Utica Zoo.

Our beautiful sculpture at the bottom of our entrance driveway has welcomed visitors to the Utica Zoo since the summer of 2017. Built by local company Metal Logix and financed by a generous donation from Martha and Richard Widdicombe, our sculpture has served as a landmark and information center for thousands of motorists traveling on the Memorial Parkway. Once you see the sculpture, you know you have arrived!

From New York State Thruway 90

  • Take Exit 31
  • Keep left at the fork, follow signs for Genesee Street S/NY-5S/Downtown Utica
  • Turn right onto N Genesee St — stay straight
  • At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit to stay on Genesee St.
  • Turn left onto Memorial Pkwy (1 way street) –stay straight, pass Parkway Rec Center on right
  • Look for our sculpture (pictured above) and turn right onto Utica Zoo Way

From NY-5S

  • Exit onto Culver Ave toward Broad St
  • Continue straight onto Memorial Pkwy/Parkway immediately after Mohawk Valley Community College
  • At light on Seymour Ave, turn left uphill onto Steele Hill Rd (see Utica Zoo sign)
  • Continue straight through light on Utica Zoo Way and go uphill through Utica Zoo Archway

NY-5E/NY-12N

  • Take the Burrstone Rd E exit
  • Merge onto Burrstone Rd
  • Slight right to stay on Burrstone Rd
  • Continue onto Memorial Pkwy (McDonald’s on the corner) stay straight, pass Parkway Rec Center on right
  • Look for our sculpture (pictured above) and turn right onto Utica Zoo Way
