Eggstravaganza 2024

It's All About the Egg!

Eggstravaganza is the Utica Zoo’s premiere Spring event featuring games, activities, the Easter Bunny, vendors, food trucks, entertainment, and more.

To follow through with our message of conservation, our Eggstravaganza event focuses less on “hunting” for plastic eggs in designated areas and offers – instead – games and activities that visitors can participate in to get candy!

Eggstravaganza 2024 will also feature food trucks, entertainment, market vendors, informational booths, and – of course – the Easter Bunny!

Throughout the day, there will also be keeper talks and “Egg” themed enrichments that will be given to our animals at specific times!

Eggstravaganza will run from 10am to 3pm on March 30. The zoo will remain open until 4:30pm.

Overflow parking and free shuttles will be available at Mohawk Valley Community College (1101 Sherman Dr, Utica, NY 13501)

We look forward to seeing you all there!

Frequently Asked Questions:

Eggstravaganza is on Saturday March 30 and runs from 10am until 3pm. The zoo will remain open until 4:30pm.

Admission to Eggstravaganza is our normal admission price of $9 for adults and $6 for kids (ages 2-12). However, there is an additional $4 charge per person for anyone who wants to participate in our featured games and activities to earn candy and other prizes!

With your membership, you would get free admission. However if you want to participate in the featured games and activities to earn candy and other prizes, the charge is still $4/person participating. Click Here to purchase your membership TODAY!

The zoo has a free parking lot that you can use when coming to the event.

There will also be overflow parking with free shuttles at Mohawk Valley Community College (1101 Sherman Dr, Utica, NY 13501) in the Payne Hall lot.

Of course! The zoo will be open as normal throughout the event. The only difference is that Eggstravaganza will also feature special food trucks, vendors, games, music, and more!

The Utica Zoo DOES NOT provide baskets or bags for our visitors, so if you want one then you will need to bring your own. That being said, candy is only handed out at the 6 game stations so each participant will only get about 6 pieces of candy at the event. There may be a few other hand-outs at some of the informational booths and – of course – there will be vendors and our own gift shop open. So baskets/bags are not required to enjoy the event, but if you anticipate that you might need one then you can definitely bring your own!

If you just want to come to the zoo for a visit on March 30, you can pay normal admission and enjoy the zoo like any other day. The only thing you won’t be able to do if you don’t pay the additional $4 are our various games and activities that can earn you candy and other prizes.

Eggstravaganza will be a rain or shine event! So regardless of what the weather ends up being on March 30, Eggstravaganza will happen!
