It's All About the Egg!
Eggstravaganza 2023
Like with 2022 – to follow through with our message of conservation – this year we will be focusing less on “hunting” for plastic eggs in designated areas and – instead – offering games and activities that visitors can participate in to get candy! These games include Duck Fishing, Egg Balance, Carrot Toss, Egg-ducation Station, Egg Guessing Game, and Scavenger Hunt Bingo!
Eggstravaganza 2023 will also feature food trucks like Rome Fried Dough and the Grapevine and entertainment such as Jim Okey Magic Comedy and Cait’s Character Corner with characters such as Alice and the Queen of Hearts, Ariel, Spiderman, and Batman. The Happy Haggs Dace Troupe will also make an appearance. And – of course – there will be the Easter Bunny!
Throughout the day, there will also be keeper talks and “Egg” themed enrichments that will be given to our animals throughout the day!
And finally, there will be a variety of vendors such So Sweet Candy, Martin’s Menagerie, Car’s Clay Art, Stacy & Dan’s Book Nook, RawADK, and more!
Eggstravaganza will run from 10am to 3pm on April 8. The zoo will remain open until 4:30pm.
We look forward to seeing you all there!

Frequently Asked Questions:
Eggstravaganza is on Saturday April 8 and runs from 10am until 3pm. The zoo will remain open until 4:30pm.
Admission to Eggstravaganza is our normal admission price of $8 for adults and $5 for kids (ages 2-12). However, there is an additional $4 charge per person for anyone who wants to participate in our featured games and activities to earn candy and other prizes!
With your membership, you would get free admission. However if you want to participate in the featured games and activities to earn candy and other prizes, the charge is still $4/person participating. Click Here to purchase your membership TODAY!
The zoo has a free parking lot that you can use when coming to the event. However, space is limited. If there is no more room in our lot, we will have shuttle busses running from the Parkway Rec Center from the Payne Hall lot at MVCC.
Of course! The zoo will be open as normal throughout the event. The only difference is that Eggstravaganza will also feature special food trucks, vendors, games, music, and more!
The Utica Zoo DOES NOT provide baskets or bags for our visitors, so if you want one then you will need to bring your own. That being said, candy is only handed out at the 6 game stations so each participant will only get about 6 pieces of candy at the event. There may be a few other hand-outs at some of the informational booths and – of course – there will be vendors and our own gift shop open. So baskets/bags are not required to enjoy the event, but if you anticipate that you might need one then you can definitely bring your own!
If you just want to come to the zoo for a visit on April 16, you can pay normal admission and enjoy the zoo like any other day. The only thing you won’t be able to do if you don’t pay the additional $4 are our various games and activities that can earn you candy and other prizes.
Eggstravaganza will be a rain or shine event! So regardless of what the weather ends up being on April 8, Eggstravaganza will happen!
